Career Highlights: One of the NBA’s most versatile players, Antoine Walker was recently traded to the Memphis Grizzlies…A three-time All-Star, Walker helped the Miami Heat to their first NBA Championship in 2006, contributing 14 points and 11 rebounds in the final game of the series over the Dallas Mavericks…Walker has averaged 17.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game during 12 NBA seasons with Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and Minnesota… Drafted by the Celtics with the sixth pick in the 1996 NBA Draft, Walker was named to the 1996-97 NBA All-Rookie First Team after leading the Celtics in scoring (17.5 points per game), rebounds (9.0 rebounds per game) and blocked shots (53) during his inaugural season…Walker scored the second-most points (1,435) of any rookie in Celtics history, trailing only Larry Bird's 1,745 points... He led the NBA in three-pointers made and attempted during the 2001-2002 season…Walker has scored more than 1,000 points in nine of his 12 seasons…Played college basketball for the University of Kentucky where he was a starting forward on the Wildcats’ 1996 NCAA championship team…As a freshman at Kentucky, he was named SEC Tournament MVP…In his sophomore year, Walker was named All-SEC First Team, All-SEC Tournament Team, and to the All-NCAA Regional Team…His uncle, Chico Walker, played Major League Baseball with the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets…Walker co-hosts, with former NBA star Tim Hardaway, the Chicagoland All-Star Game, an annual summer charity event…Walker created “The 8 Foundation” which provides positive life experiences and opportunities for inner-city youth.
